Dr Skye Delaney Skye was born in Sydney in 1975. She went through her schooling in Sydney and then continued on to Sydney University to study Medical Science. Skye completed her degree then continued on to complete an honours year in medical research. After developing a keen interest in Medicine she enrolled in Newcastle University and graduated in 2002. Skye then went on to work in Bankstown Hospital in Sydney in a range of areas including paediatrics, emergency, aged care, gastroenterology, general medicine and surgery. Skye commenced working in general practice in Sydney but was already interested in moving to an area like Mt Beauty where she and her husband could pursue their outdoor interests and experience a change of lifestyle. They arrived in Mt Beauty in August 2005 and have enjoyed their time here ever since. Skye’s medical interests include paediatrics, women's health, sport's medicine and emergency medicine. She has undertaken additional training in reproductive and sexual health through Family Planning Australia and completed courses in paediatric emergency (APLS), trauma (EMST) and rural emergency skills (REST). Skye and her husband Damian are keen skiers enjoying both downhill and back country skiing. They also enjoy road cycling, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, swimming, sailing, scuba diving and travel.
