Dr Lauren Cussen

Lauren joined the Mount Beauty Medical team in 2018 with main of becoming a rural generalist, receiving her fellowship with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) in 2022. She now works as a contractor to Mount Beauty Medical Centre. Lauren appreciates all aspects of medicine, from chronic disease and aging to paediatrics and sports medicine.

Lauren grew up in Mulwala and completed medical training through The University of Melbourne and has training in rural and regional Vic/NSW since. Lauren pursues medical research part time through The University of Melbourne and hopes to continue to improve the health outcomes of rural and remote communities by giving them a voice and representation through research.

Lauren appreciates the lifestyle provided by living in a small community. She enjoys snow skiing, cycling, hiking, her veggie patch and spending time with her partner and newfoundland dog Orki.
