Dr Andrew Mason

Andrew has joined Mt Beauty Medical Centre to continue his training in general practice. He worked in Myrtleford as a GP trainee for the last 12 months.

Born in Canada, Andrew is the son of two teachers. Raised on the shores of Lake Huron (Ontario, CAN), he spent his teens and early 20's competing in cross country skiing. After completing an honours degree in human movement and biomechanics he moved west to work as a ski patroller in the Alberta Rockies for the rest of his 20's, with a season in New Zealand mixed in.

Andrew met his wife Alex, while working in New Zealand. He completed his medical degree at Flinders University in Adelaide and medical internship in Wangaratta. He spent the following three years at various Melbourne hospitals with rotations in: paediatrics, emergency medicine, intensive care, and anaesthetics.

Andrew spends his spare time with his wife Alex, their daughter and new dog Lotte. They enjoy: skiing (all forms), cycling (road/mountain), hiking and dabble in gardening.
