Dr Iain Simpson

After completing the Doctor of Medicine in 2020 at the University of Melbourne, Iain moved north to work in Cobram, Albury, Wodonga and Beechworth. He now lives in Yackandandah with his fiancée, Elly, and they have both fallen in love with the northeast.

Iain first moved to Victoria from the tropics of Townsville to pursue studies in Biomedical Engineering and Microbiology before later studying medicine. Having also spent some of his childhood in Canada, Iain has always been drawn to the alpine environment, and he has wanted to work in Mount Beauty since medical school, so he is thrilled to have this opportunity. When not at work, Iain will either be studying, taking his kelpie-cross-whippet (River) for a run, riding a bike or paddling a kayak… and struggling to keep up with Elly!

Iain is a Registrar training to be a Rural Generalist with ACRRM. He has completed additional training in Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics, and next year he will begin part-time work in Palliative Medicine at Albury Wodonga Health.
